In the hills above Cortona, with a spectacular view of the valley below and hills beyond, this 16th century farmhouse is fully restored, retaining its characteristic charm while having all modern amenities. When my wife and I are not there it is available for rentals.

There is no better place in the world for an artist than la Pietra. I've had great joy painting here on the property, capturing the fields, hills, myriad fruit trees, gardens, and the house itself. And one doesn't need to go far for some of the best subject matter in the world, from Renaissance castles to the town of Cortona itself, with its three walls very much in evidence, the medieval, ancient Roman, and Estruscan, dating back to 600 years before the birth of Christ.
